This is my addition to the 7econds Microsound Project.
My goal was to create a short piece of music that introduced the listener to a wide range of concepts and ideas. To do this, I used six of my friend's pieces of music to create my own piece. I used sample editors such as Peak to work on the samples in tiny chunks, and then created a cSound instrument to mix between them.
This is what I came up with after working on the samples listed here and running them through a cSound instrument.

Tim's a guitarist I know from Bromley. He likes prog-rock, especially Hawkwind. I listened to his tape and pressed high speed dubbing, and for some reason enjoyed the strange effect it had on his distorted guitar.

Becky plays the flute, and can also play bass guitar. I recorded this with my laptop's mic. For some reason, after I'd played with the mixing of the samples with cSound, her original sample sounded better than the one I'd processed. The melody is somehow ironic.

I based this on one Cook's instruments on cSounds.com. After I'd added extra inputs and made them stereo, and added a few other tweaks, I was so happy with the results I left it at that. Notice the length of the piece it produces.
